Stepped on Your Bath Scales Today?

A little addition to the decor site with a personal encounter with scales. No matter what I did, I couldn't seem to lose any weight. Every couple of days I would weigh myself on the bathroom scale, but the results were always the same. I was always overweight, and it only fluctuated by a pound or two.

It was really frustrating, because I had been dieting and exercising. Still, I assumed that the bathroom scales were right. I had wanted one of the balance style, old-school ones that look very scientific, the ones where you move around weights to get the proper balance.

Although it was not one of those, when I bought it, the bathroom scale was certified completely accurate, and I had no reason to disbelieve them.

That is why was so surprised when I went over to a friends house. She had what she claimed was the most accurate set of bath scales money could buy, and when I told her about my diet problem she told me to weigh myself.

I was a little bit skeptical that it would show anything different, but I obliged her and gave it a try. To my surprise, the bathroom scale gave a much different reading. Apparently, I had lost some 15 pounds, but my scale somehow hadn't detected it. I had not looked at it carefully in so long that I didn't realize that it was jammed up.

Weigh the Odds

For some reason, the spring was out of calibration and would not work properly, and as a result it always seemed to show the same weight.

Of course, I went out and bought new scales for my bathroom right away. I was not willing to put up with that piece of junk any longer! Finding the best products was a little bit difficult. When I first went to the store, I was overwhelmed by all of the different choices.

I finally gave in and purchased a consumer report. I always make use of this magazine when I can not decide on a purchase. After all, they give some very good information about what brands are the best and which ones to avoid.

It recommended a good digital scale to buy, and I went out and bought exactly that model. Although the cost was a little bit more than I expected, it was extremely accurate. I have been happy with it ever since. It has helped my lose weight because I know exactly where I am on my diet every day.

So, don't always believe what your bathroom scale tells you. You might not weigh near what you see on those little numbers!
